Dr. Maria Montessori
Dr. Maria Montessori was an extraordinary human being who lived from 1870–1952. She started her career as a Physician and later became a world renowned Educator. Her passion for scientific education and love for children lead her to work with impaired children at asylums and orphanages. During this work she discovered that mentally disabled children could outsmart normal children, given necessary guidance and didactic materials.
With her nature, naturally being an inquisitive person she wanted to experiment her methods with normal children. Therefore, she accepted a position as a Kindergarten program director at a housing scheme in San Lorenzo, Rome in Italy. This is where she started her first 'Children's House' and ventured into the Montessori method of teaching which later captured the world as an accepted method of scientific method of teaching for children.
