Chamila De Mel
Ms. Chamila is a compassionate educator who takes pride in seeing children's achievement. She is a mother of two wonderful boys. She believes that Montessori education can do wonders to children's development, when they are placed in a conducive environment with a prepared adult. She made a pledge to help children according to the Montessori philosophy and principles, when she graduated from the AMI Montessori Teacher Training Centre, (Good Shepherd Maria Montessori Training Centre) in Colombo, Sri Lanka in 2005. She was fortunate enough to be trained from one of the best Teacher Training Centres where she underwent two intensive years of training before becoming a Montessori Guide. AMI; Association Montessori Internationale, is the authentic Montessori teacher training organization that was founded by Dr. Maria Montessori in 1929 that carries out her true Montessori legacy to maintain the highest standard of Montessori education. She has worked internationally before moving to Canada in 2009.
In addition to Ms. Chamila's Montessori teacher training for Primary Level, she has certification for Administrator, Orientation of 0-3 from AMI and also certified for Introduction to Developmental Psychology and Introduction to Autism. She also has the certification for First Aid and CPR from Red Cross Canada.
