Our Story
Casa Montessori has been successfully helping many young children and their families since 2022. We follow Dr. Montessori's philosophy and focus on the natural development of the whole child; intellectual, physical, spiritual, emotional and social.
Carefully prepared individual lesson plans, according to their developmental needs are being used to work with each child. We take pride in using authentic Montessori materials to educate our students following AMI curriculum.
We believe in collaborating with parents in order for their children to succeed in everyway, therefore we have regular communications with our parents through various methods such as: individual discussions (as and when necessary) via text messages, emails, phone calls or even in person meetings; Parent Education sessions, parent Observations as well as parent teacher conferences. One of the highlights has been is that, we meet up with all our families for an annual field trip or get together at the end of each year.

Chamila De Mel
Ms. Chamila is a compassionate educator who takes pride in seeing children's achievements. She is a mother of two wonderful boys and believes that Montessori education can do wonders to children's development, when they are placed in a conducive environment with a prepared adult. She made a pledge to help children according to the Montessori philosophy and principles, when she graduated from the AMI Montessori Teacher Training Centre, (Good Shepherd Maria Montessori Training Centre) in Colombo, Sri Lanka in 2005. She was fortunate enough to be trained under one of the best Teacher Training Centres, where she underwent two intensive years of training before becoming a Montessori Guide for Primary (3-6) level. AMI; Association Montessori Internationale, is the authentic Montessori teacher training organization that was founded by Dr. Maria Montessori herself in 1929, which carries out her true Montessori legacy to maintain the highest standard of Montessori education. Ms. Chamila has had the opportunity to work internationally before moving to Canada in 2009.
In addition to Ms. Chamila's Montessori teacher training for Primary Level, she has certification for Leadership, and Orientation of 0-3 from AMI and also certified for Introduction to Developmental Psychology and Introduction to Autism. She also has the certification for First Aid and CPR from Red Cross Canada.
